First of thank-you to Terry, Rob, and the Mods for having a place where we can do this. Also thank-you to Maddog Traditional Archery, Black Mountain Bows, Mike's Archery Leather, Git-R-Done Archery and the Trad Gang Members who've donated to make this possible.
We will be giving one complete set-up away about once a month until we run out of bows. This month it is a brand new Ragim Ranger RH 48" 24@24 bow, MAL Youth Quiver and AG, a youth shooting glove and 6 arrows.
We would like to put this equipment into the hands of kids who otherwise would be unable to afford such things. We need folks who are willing to take a kid under their wing and mentor them in Traditional Archery and hopefully hunting one day.
To qualify e-mail the name and age of a deserving youth to dmjknipes@verizon.net. Tell us why this child is deserving and what you are willing to do to support them in learning to be a Traditional Archer/Hunter. We also ask that this equipment be returned to be given to another child once it is outgrown or if the child loses interest. The budget is limited and we would like to help as many as we can. Please post a picture of the winner with the set-up too!
On March 7th we'll announce the winner and start again. To be entered this time your entry needs to be received by 8PM Eastern on March 1st.
Let's help Traditional Archery and Hunting grow a new generation. We'll provide the tackle, you provide the child and time. Heres a pic of the quiver each winner will receive.

Man that is too cool!
I love the giving nature of this place!
Perfect timing with the bow classifieds fiasco and all. Love this group. Thanks for everything!
Brian
Don't be shy folks. Enter a kid and introduce them to what's right in the world. We have a dozen or so to give away this year.
Gotta put my thinking cap on for this one. We've got alot of youngsters around here who may be interested.
Man this is great. I have 2 grandsons 8 & 5 that im going to get started soon but Grandpa can handle getting them outfitted so i wont enter them. Cant wait to see the smile on the winners face.
Good stuff all around....we really need to see pics of these kids as well....and them seeing their pics here should 'super charge' them.
Along with this, and some other ideas, we are going on a youth hunt for 2008 and try and get more kids introduced into our sport.
Thanks to all that helped with this effort!!!!! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
To The Top...
ttt
My hats off to this great contribution and idea...
At this point I just need to flip a coin to give it away. I hope there are more folks out there interested in getting a youngster started.
UP
Up again! Great job guys and keep up the good work!!
That's a great gesture.
ttt
What a great way to introduce a young person into Trad archery. Come on everyone I know there are some deserving kids out there that would love to shoot and have a great mentor.
TTT for the kids!
Starting to get some entries now. Happy to get more. If you don't get it this time, don't be discouraged, there'll be more in the months to come.
TTT
UP AGAIN
I have started a church archery group and have two kids of my own that I am sure I can find a deserving kid to have this equipment. Please add my name to the list.
Stilllearning, please email vermonster13 and please provide the information from the message I pasted below. Good luck and remember this will run every month.
Thanks
Chris

Awesome gesture. One of the many reasons i love this community of hunters!
Everyone involved. This is a great thing you are doing. I have passed on some youth bows and it is a great thing. When you give away a left handed set I have a fine young boy in mind for it.
PM sent to VM
There will be a couple of lefties made in the future.
UP!
Cool idea,I've been keeping my eye's open at garage sale's around here figuring that it'd be nice to have a bow or 2 at the club for any kid to use.Picked up a bear cub last summer and got a new string put on her.One of the other guys said he had a kids bow he could bring.I'm also considering the other type of kids bow since our club isn't trad only, but so far it's been just sticks.
Can't think of a kid in particular right now but it's a great idea good luck
TTT
UP for a great cause
This evening after work, I will send an e-mail in reference to a friend's little girl.
I'll be looking for it.
This thing you guys are doing is wonderful and whatever comes of it will be awesome and make some very happy kids.
Email sent for my son Matthew. Jason
TTT
Hey David, I just made my first string it is B50, it came out too short for my use. It is 50" actual so would fit a 54" recurve. if ya need it for one of the kids bows let me know and I will mail it to ya.
Danny
TTT
danny.i don't make decision's for dave, but i talked to him yesterday and he said he could use various length strings.i am sending him a few,so the point i'm going around the world to try to get across is i am sure he would appreciate it.regards, robert  :coffee:
We have some really great entries. Remember if your entry isn't picked this time, we'll be doing this a lot more yet this year.
:clapper: To everyone that makes this possible :clapper:
Yes you did it right!!!zipperman
A little house-keeping. I need e-mails not PMs. I can keep e-mails so you don't need to reenter to be considered. Also when you e-mail me please include your Trad Gang name. Some folks I'm not finding when I do a search under "Real Name" and a Trad Gang Member is going to win the equipment so we know we can get follow-ups on the kids.
Up for a new day.
ttt i'll check around and see thanks Ralph
We are getting some real deserving kids entered in this one. I may have to sell a couple more bows.
2 days left
Anyone else want in for this month?
UP
"TTT" :campfire:
This one ends tomorrow. So get them in folks.
Last day to enter.
I have a kid down the street that has gotten interested. I will get some pics asap. Count him in. He has a bow. Sure is fun to see these kids get interested.
The generosity that takes place here is unbelievable. Great job to everyone involved! I'll send you an email by the end of the day. I know a kid who would be very deserving.....CJ
Some great entries! This is going to be real hard to choose. I still need Trad Gang names from some of you folks who "sponsored' a child though.
"up" :campfire: :archer: :clapper:
I sent an email in from wapitidreamer at embarqmail for my son matthew. I think I forgot to add from "imskippy"
LOL I forgot that there are 29 days this month. I had planned on ending the entries at 8PM tonight, guess we have one more day afterall.
ttt

I sent an email for a boy named Lane. Thanks and TTT for a great example of good TradGangers.
If you didn't get in this time or don't get a bow this time, no worries, there will be another chance in a month or two.
But for the big surprise. Since there were so many great kids entered, there will be five bows given away this month! Next Saturday I'll reveal the winners here.

ttt Way to go, Dave!
UP!
Great job. Keep this program going. It's our future!!!!

This is awesome! As a Cubmaster and father of 3 boys,I have never seen a kid that didn't love to shoot a bow.The only thing that my kids instantly drop the video game controller or the skateboard for is when they see me carrying my bow into the back yard.Archery is a great tool for improving a kids self esteem and it is just plain fun. When somebody cares for people that they don't even know, that is true generosity. Thank you for making the world a better place. Brian
Will Saturday ever get here! :bigsmyl:
Way to go guys! I love this site, you guys and gals are the best!
Mike
Ok, due to the number of entries and limited supply of youth arrows I have, each child will receive 4 arrows so I can make sure I have some for everyone who gets a bow. ALso the gloves did not make it here so this first batch will not get them. My apologies.
I sent out e-mails to folks I need addresses and Usernames from and I need replies ASAP please.
Ended up being six bows given away this time plus some arrows to a young lady who was given a bow by another generous Trad Ganger.
Tomorrow night I'll be giving out the names of February's winners and we'll start a new thread for March.
All the packages are in the mail as of yesterday. Who's getting them will be announced this evening.
PM sent. My Daughter just loves the pics of the arrows. Thanks for your generosity. Duane

I will use it alot me and my dad are going to go turky hunting this year and it will be so much fun.and i might go deer hunting with him too. And when I outgrow the bow we will send it back because I know every kid or grown-up that sign up for this will really want to win this bow! Well THANKS ALOT!!!!!
congrats to the winners. cant wait to see the pics. Vermonster, thats a wonderful thing to do.
That's just Great! Can't wait to see all the smiling faces
Awesome job! Dave, you live by your word (in your signature block) -- "For hunting to have a future, we must invest ourselves in future hunters" and you are doing just that!
:clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Thank you guys for choosing Emily. See her note above. She is so excited. She has wanted to hunt with me since she was old enought to talk. She is almost 10 now and has never lost that interest. She just completed her hunter safety class and will be doing her first turkey hunt this spring, with a shotgun though, wich she shot for the very first time today. She did great. I think she will really live up to you're confidence in her to become a responsable "outdoorwoman".
Thanks again from the bottom of my heart and rest assured we will pay this generosity foreward. We'll send some pictures soon.
Now you need to get Emily registered so she can share her adventures with all of us Rick.
Yep, I thought the same thing.
On behalf of my buddy Blake Jackson, I love you guys!Blake is going to be blown away when I give him this. I truly believe that this will be a life altering event for this super cool young man.
As soon as he gets it,I will make sure he is registered and pictures of his expression will be posted. I can't wait. Thanks for doing this Vermonster. You are a true hero and I don't just throw that word around lightly.
Brian :clapper:
Folks I in no way did this all on my own. I just drew the short straw and ended up being the face for this while other participants get to remain anonymous and just enjoy. Hopefully we'll grow a few hunters out of this that might otherwise never have got the chance to experience it.
Thanks to everybody!!!
Brian
Vermonster! You are Awesome!
Great Job! Hope to see some pics soon. :clapper:
Well done everyone!!
The next giveaway won't be done until the end of this month beginning of next. I will be unable to do any Post Office runs for a while after the 18th of this month.
Sincere thanks to vermonster and all the gang members who contributed to this generous event. I can't tell guys how much I appreciate what you've done for Chris and myself. Here's Chris:
"I'm not the best at putting things into words but this has really motivated me in school and I've had perfect attendance since Mr. Johns told me that I had been selected. I'll continue this for the rest of the marking period - and I can't wait to test out the new bow! Also, I'll be joining you guys shortly as a member of Trad Gang. We've already made plans to build some targets so I can practice. In the meantime, Mr. Johns brought in "Masters of the Barebow" for me to watch. Hope to meet some of you guys in the future. Thanks for everything....Chris L.
chris.don't belittle your self, you did a great job with the word's.congrats."keep it up and play it forward",AND,welcome aboard.best regards, robert  :campfire: :clapper:

These 3 bows and the leather from Vermonster and you guys are going to make a huge impact on these kids...
