I am getting started on a couple slightly snaky and twisted hop hornbeam selfbows. The bow backs will be sapwood (the bark came off real nice after I cut the tree). While tracing out my bow design on the back of the bow, should I draw my centerline following the grain or keep it straight?
Thanks,
Dino

Follow the grain... Always. Then heat the bow if the tips dont aline with the handle.
