Title: handle sleeves for takedown selfbow
Post by: calgarychef on December 11, 2011, 07:05:00 AM
It must be here somewhere and I did try the search button...

Can anyone tell me who sells takedown sleeves for selfbow handles?  I see 3R has them and although I like 3R a LOT I don't fancy spending 30 bucks for a set.  Is there anyone that sells for less.  Alternatively is there a decent way to make my own take down sleeve?

thanks!

unless you have a Mandrell to make your own i would suggest 3.r. or pinehollow longbows. both are sponsors here. rv

Well that is very cool. I know though that I would end up with to flat piece of metal trying to get them to match.

tracy, there was a good write up in primitive archer of someone who made one out of glass- nice tight fit- and worked really well- and i geuss, not as prone to temp changes.
will see if i can find the article- send me a fax #
i have used 2 of the 3R ones now- and i like them, but they do seem to need a bit of tweeking ( filing etc) to get a perfect fit
