Title: recommended planer
Post by: recurvericky on December 06, 2011, 09:46:00 PM
I am interested in buying a thickness planer. I would like to stay under $350 new or used. What recommendations do you have?

I have a Delta planer that works great. blades are easy to find and reasonable. Blades are also double sided and slotted for easy changing. just flip them over

X3 on the Delta.  However, I have also heard that the Dewalt unit isn't bad either and I  have seen some killer deals on them right now.

What are your thoughts on the Delta TP305 12-1/2-Inch planer?

I have found two planers. The first is an never used Delta 22-580 for $295 and the other is an older but in great shape Delta 22-6650 for $450. Of the two which do you think would be the better deal or choice?

I made a deal for a Delta 22-580 planer and a Jet 14" closed base band saw for $700. Both are in new condition. The band saw new is $1000. I will be picking them up this weekend.
