Has anyone succesfully joined two pieces of glass on the back of a R/D longbow?

With an overlay it shouldn't be a problem but I'm a wood bow maker so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Join them in the center of the riser only. Grind them at the same angle 45 or less Ca glue them in the grind so they dont slip apart on you at glueup.
