Title: Lee Valley dowel maker
Post by: Path finder on February 21, 2008, 06:59:00 PM
Anyone ever use one of these?

 Lee Valley (http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=1&p=52401&cat=1,180,42288)
Looking to finish my bow project soon as the weather warms up a bit and then would like to make some arrows.

3/4" dowel a good size? I'm not a hunter but mostly target shooting, though once I get my bow made I'd really like to do some turkey hunting and was wondering about dowel size.

Thanks

Wow   how heavy a bow are you shooting ?

Most wood arrows are somewhere in the 5/16, 11/32, 23/64 range.  Some may get into the 3/8" range.   Were you meaning 3/8" dowel ?
