What the heck is Ipe?
-
Look up Tabebuia on wikipedia for a full description. Pronounced "eepay" I think.
But in short, it's a very dense and rot resistant hardwood from central and south America. Apparently wonderful for bows if backed with something. I hope to find out myself someday...

Brazilian Walnut aka Dark Mistress.

Ipe is also a very high end decking material. Google decking material and you may find a source for it. Thats how I found mine.
