cat whiskers - work great, and don't react to weather.

hush puppies - work great, look cool!

real fur - no experience

some even use the modern ones (leaches).

Find what you and your bow likes.  Remember, it is the journey, not the destination.

Cat whiskers because they are weather proof and durable and fur because it looks better on my longbow.

Yote fur, not that my sel-bows need much quietin'.  Use the stuff around the mane, cut about 1/8" strips, slip 3/16's between the flemish twist, wrap to last 3/16's and slip between again.  Then shhhhhhhhhhh!  :bigsmyl:

I've used cat whiskers, yarn, fur, rubber bands, string leaches. They all work to an extent. Gotta position them correctly.

Cat whiskers.  They work, don't hold scent, burrs, or water, can get them in colors to match my string, easy to install, cheap......what's not to like?

I like the looks of fur, but until I can find a critter that grows rubber hair so it will work as good as cat whiskers, I'll have to pass.

Thanks everyone....I like cat whiskers also....cannot seem to keep the beaver balls on my string and they tend to get a little damp in the humidity down here.  Thanks for the input on the string leaches....I am going to try them also.

I've always liked fur, wether it be beaver, muskrat, otter, coyote, ect. They have always just seemed "right" on my bows.

I recently changed strings on a bow, used a mountain muffler on one of my longbows.I honestly believe that wool is better than fur now that I have tried it.Hate to admit it,because I still love how the fur silencers look on my bows, and I'm having a hard time dealing with the looks of puffy wool balls................but,THEY WORK.

Jeez.......what am I gonna do????  :bigsmyl:
