Title: longbow limb options with ILF fitting?
Post by: Viking69 on February 18, 2008, 02:51:00 PM
Hi, I'm trying to track down all of the available options for takedown LB limbs that would work on an ILF riser? It seems like there could be a lot of potential in this market? Any ideas with costs would be appreciate.

Thanks!

Tradtech makes a glass/wood longbow limb that retails for 149.99.  Very good quality limb at a very reasonable price.  They are also coming out with a carbon/foam version that is now in it's testing stages.  Don't know about price or when it will be available.

I know Bob Morrison also makes an ILF longbow limb.  Again, I don't know anything about price or availability.

That's about all I know of.

Lenny thanks for the reply, I'm aware of the Tradtech limbs and I looked at Morrison's website but did not see the longbow limbs offered. Am really interested to see if anyone out there has a good quality limb that would fall somewhere between the 150 dollar tradtechs and what I can only assume are going to be 600 dollar Morrisons? Seems like a whole host of bowyers out there that are producing 3 piece take down longbows that could modify their limb butt design and add a bushing? Sure do like the idea of having more options available. Maybe it would be a good poll to gage interest?

Tradtech is working on a better limb.I think the Morrison limbs may be available but last I heard Bob was still working on the design.

I would like a set also but I think in a year or so there will be more options out there.

Viking69:

There was a review on the LW a little while back by a guy that has the TradTech carbon prototypes.  You might be interested in checking it out.

Don't count those $149 limbs from TT..they really perform..I was skeptical but man they really push a arrow out...of course the new limbs are better from what I read but for the money these limbs really are nice...Im pushing bout 190fps out of my set up and for the noise factor..really not much difference than any other longbow..just tune and use the silencers you like and you are ready to go plus on my Titan riser..it looks darn good..I would get the limbs soon if you are interested as they will be increasing the $$ soon

Hey Razorback, 190fps is darn admirable. What limb weight, arrow weight and how high are you bracing it?

I got in a Pinnacle with 50 pound longbow limbs. I shoot extremes off of my Titan and certainly didn't expect much from a set of $150.00 long bow limbs. Man was I wrong. Those things are very impressive and a real joy to shoot. I took it to my indoor leagues and passed it around and now there are three of us with pinnacles.

I also shoot an 8" brace height with 45/60 terminators. I draw 29.5" and am getting 56 pounds out of my limbs.
