My Dad has an armguard I am c-c-c-crazy over, made by Zane back in the day, and it's a Schulz/Hill style lace up with perforated holes in a pleasing pattern. His Zane glove is awesome too.
My understanding is these are no mas.
I found a Schulz Buffalo at 3Rivers which seems like a facsimile. What was the story on Zane's leatherwork?
I used the old one as a pattern and made my own out of heavier saddle skirting, and need latigo rather than the smaller diameter thong you see here. I'd like to replace them eyelets with brass quick lace posts too, but I gotta find them first.
Natural color should darken with age.
Well what do you think?

very nice,I am impressed.Looks like a good hunting guard.
it's freakin'stout, for sure! I love how it came out.
Highpoint, have you tried a shoe cobbler for your quick lace.

Forgot to add, very nice looking bracer.

You know I'm looking on that auction site and at the large leather retailer too, but I think 1/8 and 5/32 are too skinny. What size is bigger than that but not 1/4? 3/16 maybe?
I need to add those brass lacing posts, whatever they are called?
