Title: Gluing down rug rest
Post by: Bear Heart on February 18, 2008, 09:46:00 AM
After slipping a small piece of velcro under my rug rest, I am having trouble keeping everything stuck down.  What is a safe adhesive to use?

Rubber cement works for me on leather rests, I don't know why it wouldn't work on velcro.

I am not quite sure what you mean by "slipping a small piece of vecro UNDER my rug rest", as it is my impression that the loop side of velro IS the rug rest.

I already had a rug rest on but slipped a piece of velcro underneath it to minimize arrow contact with the shelf.

Barge cement. works great, and won't hurt the finish upon removal.

Got it!  I use Barges also with good success, but rubber cement is probably a bit easier to find.

I would use the exterior grade double sided tape, Have used it for several years. Stick it on the rug and then trim it to the shape of the rug and then stick it to the bow. No mess.

Used the Barge and seems to be holding fine.

Thanks for the help, Tim
