Here's pics of my first bow to leave my shop. (The others are still here.)
Although its only a kids bow, I think it turned out ok. A friend at work and I were talking about archery, he said his five year old son had a compound, and loved shooting it. I had already started this bow, my boys have many, so I asked if his son would like a trad bow I was building. He said sure and the rest is history.

It is 47" ntn, red oak, with cherry riser, osage tip overlays, and camo cloth backing. I told my friend that the only thing he owed me was full draw and shooting pics.

Looks pretty good, do you have a better pic of the front of the limbs?

I kind of fell into a similar situation this week. I was building 2 youth takedowns for my nephews and a guy at work seen it and wanted me to make 3 for him. Then my daughter saw one and wanted one too. So now I have 6 that I'm working on. I've been doing so much filing and sanding the last 3 days that even my finger prints hurt!

Sorry about pics coming and going, fighting resizing on photobucket. The best pic of front limbs turned out on the one showing the overlays, the other full front wasn't too good. I have a good one with the same camo cloth backing, I'll post it shortly.

Great looking bow.  Nothing like the look when you hand one to a kid.  Love the logo on the limb.

Man this with all the kids getting bows just from this site alone. Looks like archery is going to live on strong of a generation or two.

That camo looks awesome. What kind of cloth do you use on those bows? Is it just like cotton camo t-shirts or what and do you just glue it down with titebond?

Great workmanship and tiller! My only concern is the very deep cutout for the sight window, usually a bad idea and puts an awful lot of strain on a thin piece of wood.

okie64 The camo cloth backing is just material from WalMart. I put a a generous layer of titebond III on the bow, layout the material, smooth out all the wrinkles, then apply another layer of titebond III on top of the material, and smooth that out. I let it dry for about a day. Trim the excess with a razor knife, then sand even. I do leave a little over the rounded edge.

I too, have other kids bows in the works, as when others saw this one, they wanted one too. One guy is adamit about buying one for his daughter, but I have never sold one, and have no idea what to charge. Guess I'll figure up material costs and see how many hoours it takes and go from there.
