Here is my new bow that I made for a turkey hunt in Kansas this spring. I wanted something short and heavier. This bow fits both. I used the same deflex/reflex form from other pictures. This time I didn't get to crazy with the reflex... I wish I would have added a touch more though. I wanted to add some deflex to help out in getting the draw to smooth out with such a short bow. I still didn't get the deflex quite right though. It always seemes that something isn't perfect and it bugs the hell out of me. I honestly don't think I will ever make a bow that I'm totally happy with. I guess that I'm just to picky. I would call the profile a mild d/r. It sure shoots quick and quiet. At 56in. ntn I should be able to swing it around a little inside my blind and hopefully the skins will keep those darn birds from seeing all the yellow. I wish I would have added a little dye job to it now. Hindsight is always 20/20 huh. The bow is 60@26. I like it, hell I think I'll keep her. Thanks for looking,
Dave

Thats a charmer there! I like it. If you ever start building bows your 100% happy with you may never build another. Thats what drives us wierd-o's! The next one will be even better after I make a few changes. Nice bow
looks sweeet! I wouldnt worry about the dye job, a couple of days in the sun and it will start to dye itself. good job.
Pretty tiller at full draw - IMO Nice background too - That FD will appear in my Traditional Bows Drawn Pages in a few days (keep checking it).

sweet bow love the handle and the skins. ruddy
DANG, now that is one sweet looking bow, well done!!!
That looks real nice. If you don't want her I could probably take off your hands, might even be persuaded to pay for half the shipping. HA HA. I know how you feel about never being one hundred percent satisfied. I have however begin to notice that when I see a bow I built, a few years back it looks allot better than when I shipped it. I guess always being critical allows us to get better.
That is a nice looking bow. I must not be picky enough I would take and use that for turkey and deer and wabbits and targets and tree rats and well I could do this all night.
Nice bow.
Good job!
that is beautiful. The canebreak skins really set of the osage.
Great job, I'll like to see your form.
Thats an awesome bow. Canebrakes set it off!!!
Awesome lookin bow! Nice lookin bucks too.
thanks everyone. I was about to go with diamondback skins till joe showed me the pic of his bow, that's when I knew it was canebreak for sure.
:D
Nice job David! I'm glad you all are skinning those bows, it gives me some cool ideas for the future because I AM going to Skin one, it's just a matter of when.
What is your total tip to tip measurement?
You got that tiller perfect, I don't know what your complaining about? It's a great looking bow.
I use red oak stain on the belly to darken mine up a bit, I don't think they darken enough on their own once you put the finish sealer on them.
Red Oak is about as close to natural aged osage as I have found.
Nice looking bow. I hope the turkeys do not get scared off when they see the snake rising out of the grass.
semo, overall length is 57in. Don't worry about skinnin bows it's one of the easiest thing about finishing.
I love it.
Very nice. The skins really do set it off. Danny
Nice bow, David. Looks great.
Stan
Thats a very pretty bow. Love the skins
Very nice David. I like your tiller on the full draw. Dean
Thanks for the kinds words everyone.
Ranger3 Here is the pic of the form that I used to heat bend it to shape. Like I said, I didn't put the full amount of reflex into this one. I now wish I would have added a bit more.
