Title: Bamboo and Ipe sorces?

I want to build a bamboo/bamboo bow, bamboo/Ipe bow and some bamboo arrows. There is no sorce for bamboo and Ipe around Roanoke Virginia that I can find. Where is a good resonably priced sorce for these items. Thanks, Don

I am about out but I ordered my bamboo from Frank's Cane and Rush.

The ipe I found locally at my hardwood supplier being sold as decking material.

http://www.ipe-deck.com/  found this place but its in fredericksburg. Google your heart out. I found a cheap source 7miles from my house. Funny thing is I'm a telephone repairman and had fixed their phone a couple of times and never cared what they did there. Then I got hooked on bow building and googled "ipe sales" and bingo. now I have 4 ipe board staves a true 1" thick for $20.

they sell it at one of the local mills as "Brazilian walnut flooring"...

I buy my IPE from a deck building supplier for like $6/BF. A 6"X1"X10ft piece was $30. Bamboo slats can be bought online for $4 each delivered in bundles of 25.

I would recommend Jaap Koppedrayer from Yumi Bows as a source for excellent arrow and bow bamboo.It's harvested by him and sun cured for 2 yrs.He also grows it on his farm.He's near Jessop Georgia.
