Anybody shot the new limb design? Opinions please?
Wally, Vermonster is waiting onthe new 3pc design....when he sends it to me to shoot, I'll holler at you and we'll meet up to ring it out.
Dave....Wally's got go-rilla draw like you 30+ I think.
Supposed to have the very first of a new recurve limb design here by 10am tomorrow. UPS left it in Phoenix today though they had guaranteed it would be here by 10am today.
Dang Dave,,, you'd figure the Brown truck would have your addy zeroed in by now.
Hope it gets there soon.
Maybe DJ will deliver it. Hap
Sounds good JC. David said he would get it today. I am real interested in the longbow limbs. It throws that 12 grains per pound as fast as the hybrid and faster than the recurve! According to the webstie.
I'll loan you my Classic Limbed TD next week Wally. It is an older style limb but will give you a decent idea of the feel. You like low or medium wrist? It is the only belly mount set that were ever made I believe.
David,
We are anixously awaiting your review and evaluation. I have heard a lot of great things about Arvin and his bows.
Been out shooting it. Had to set-up a string for it and do some shooting in the snow squall. This one is 45@28 62" low wrist riser. The riser is 4 around the throat and shaped to keep you from torquing the bow, pretty comfortable. Messed with the brace height some and 7.5 seems to work about the best right now. Shot a bunch of different arrows from 1816s to AD Big Games and it shot them all rather well. First impression is it's fast. Has the narrowest limbs I've ever seen on a recurve but he has put a new wedge in the tip and the thing won't twist. It is easier to string than my CX. To early for a full blown decision but so far so good.
Do you think you can post a pic. pretty please.
I will after the bunny hunt at Shawn's. Letting the participants be the first to see and get a crack at shooting one.
I'm supposed to have one coming sooner than later, i've been giving Arvid monthly phone calls to see where mine is in the process, but all i get is soon. He apparently got a bad batch of carbon or something that he couldn't use & had to find another source. Hopefully by spring....
2 sets of limbs...can't wait to see your tests.
Randy
He has enough materials to make a 100 bows right now and is busier than a one armed paper hanger.
Sounds good David. Can't wait to hear more about that new design.
we have tested his hybrid on a shootingmachine and it is right up there with, if not faster then the acs and the winex tested same day.
Amazing performance !
Vermonster I am close to the top of the list for a Blackswan and am curious as to whether or not I should select the hybrid or longbow? Ive been shooting my new acs cx and am eager to grab the new swan. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks Andrew
Depends what you like. My favorite is the Hybrid(I'm 75% longbow though), but this little recurve is pretty sweet.
I keep hearing a voice inside my head that says buy a Black Swan Hybrid. It is at the top of my next bow list. Looked at many others , but keep returning to the Swan. Sure wish that there was a one piece Black Swan Owner in Oregon, Washington or California that I could visit and at least hold one to feel the grip.

The voice is telling me classic longbow, but the hybrid is very tempting.
I had a chance to shoot David's recurve this weekend at the bunny hunt, first impressions...very small and fairly light metal riser, smallest grip I've ever shot, but not uncomfortable in any way...good speed and quiet. just the slightest buzz in the hand at release, not what I would call shocky at all. Overall, it was a good shooting bow.

I will take care of the buzz when I put a good string on the bow and get to tune it a little. I am really having that recurve grow on me. With only a four inch throat it is very torque resistant. Of course you can get any of the limbs on that riser.
Seems everyone who shot the Hybrid really liked it. Very quiet, quick and dead in the hand. It is a belly mount though and a little heavier riser than the newer model.
You guys are killin' me. I thought I'd have mine (Impala hybrid) last November and the wait is now starting to get to really get to me. Ugh!!!
