Title: Board Bow Help
Post by: markw on October 05, 2010, 12:29:00 PM
I'd like to learn how to make a board bow and I'm not one of those folks that do well by reading instructions!  I need to see something for myself to understand.  Is there anyone who lives near the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St Paul, MN)that knows of a bow building class or perhaps would even let me watch them make one?

Mark,

I'm not sure about a board bow class in particular.  I recently received from my father-in-law a magazine put out by WoodCraft.  It's a company/store that sells woodworking tools for carvers and such.  They had an article from a gentlemen out of Idaho.  He makes bamboo backed bows.  Occasionaly he travels around and does classes.  You may look and see if there is a store near you, or one like it, that has any classes.  Hope this helps.

19 parts in all. Not exactly hands on training, but it might help.
