For the back on a lamineted bow how critical is it to get down to one growth ring or does that rule of thumb go away because you are laminating / backing it. Looking at some of these custom bow pics the backs look like the almost taper in thickness or the grain runs off the side. The only book i have read so far is Tradional Bowers Bible I.
