Just finished up another bow. I decided to make a longer bow, and wanted to try some phenolic inserts in the riser. This one is 68" long, and came in at 48#. A little lighter than I wanted, but that's where it ended up and it shoots great.
I used gray actionwood under clear glass. I was kind of bummed b/c I see now that they have flat grain actionwood available which would have looked sweet on the limbs - but I guess I have an excuse to build another now.
Here's couple pics of the beast: (http://i928.photobucket.com/albums/ad121/machomanandysavage/archery/grayprofile.jpg)

I finished it with Thunderbird Satin Poly. It shoots an average of 174fps. @10grains/pound for those interested in the speed.

That came out very cool. The accent colors really look good against that gray. You did an outstanding job.
I just happened to have ordered a gray actionwood block for my next riser, going to couple it with zebrawood limbs.
Yours is getting me all excited.......
thanks for posting

Thanks for the compliments! LOL I don't think I can sell this one stoned... This one is going with me to the woods this fall. Can't wait!

Nice job...is that the Bingham hybrid?
-
It's kind of based off of a Binghams hybrid, which I really liked the looks of. The limb shape is about the same, I just made this one longer, different taper on the limbs, etc.
