Title: Bingham's Take Down limb make-up
Post by: sulphur on June 27, 2010, 09:54:00 AM
i got the blue-prints for the binghams 58" takedown but no specifics on the limb make-up.  Is it 2 lams or 3.  what the taper rate etc etc.  Anyone know??  I have seen plenty of them on this site.

Probably when you decide the draw length and weight Binghams can suggest the lam formula.

I just made a 60" and 58" T/D L/B from the Binghams design. Let me know the length of your riser you want to use, desired finished weight, and draw length for a 58" and I can get you in close on each lam for the stack. Also specify, recurve or Long bow, if it is a LB, specify pronounced or other.

The limb kit for a Bingham take down recurve comes with two wood laminations (one parallel, one 0.002 taper), glass for the back and belly, and wedges for each limb.

thanks jsweka, thats what i was looking for.  2 lams with a total taper of .002.   I can use the binghams chart for the total stack thickness. I was going to call binghams but its sunday, i wont have any free time the rest of the week to work on it.

keep in mind binghams charts are on the heavy side consistantly.
