I received a set of Timber rattler snake skins from 4Nolz that had been dried. I used titebond II and glued them up. I then rasped away the excess on the sides, which beveled the skins to match the limb. I then pulled the scales off that remained, and put 2 different coats of thin super glue on the skins. What a mess that stuff can make on the belly of the limb. I cleaned it up and shot the belly with a light coat of spray bed liner. My riser is a textured black powdercoated proline warf, so the Dryad Epic ILF limbs look cool on it.
I lightly sanded, then put several coats of urethane on them. I shot the bow through the same chrono, and noticed that I was about 7 fps FASTER. What? I weighed the bow and found that even though the limb bolts were locked in place, I gained about 5 lbs. Is that normal when adding on skins? I imagine it is like adding on another lamination layer.
Does anyone have any experience to confirm this?

Very Nice!
I did some more measuring at the range. My weight and speed wasn't what I had posted. I must have been pulling a little strong. Today, I was getting about 1lbs-2lbs not 5lbs over. The speed with the skins applied dropped a few feet per second as well. I guess that makes more sense.
where'd you get the skins?
I got them from 4Nolz.
does he sell skins? a search says "no results"
He was on another site. I don't know if he has another name on here. We traded material. I don't think he sells commercially. I think you can buy from 3rivers.com though. Good luck.
