Title: Best spray can type of bow finish
Post by: DesertDude on June 25, 2010, 03:03:00 PM
I have refinished alot of bows and alway had great results with either Spar Urathayne  (sp) green can, or Deft.  Any other products you would recomend? Refinishing Glass and wood types of bows....

Thanks

Mark

I like satin spray lacquer because it fills, builds, and dries fast.  I usually will follow it up with a finish coat (or two, or three) of spar urethane or Birchwood-Casey's Gunstock Wax.

I've used Defthane on a number of bows and had really good luck with it.  Nice and easy to touch up as well. (It won't dry on some exotics however)

Has anyone ever used a spray gun with spar or poly? If so, how much do you reduce the spar or poly with thinner?
