I have seen some beautiful bows with veneers spliced on the limbs posted here. How do you keep them from moving during glue-up? Are they glued together beforehand?
I haven't done that yet but this is how I would do it.

Thanks Jason, Very good information, not ready to try that yet but I will save it.

Are you talking about the splice in the middle of the riser, which is the center of the bow or are you talking decorative splices in the mid limb area?
If you go to the Georgia Outdoor news forum and traditional, look for Marty Thompsons post titled (Sapelo and a Rutting Buck). He does a bow build-a-long and shows how he does a splice. Pup
I've only dealt with splices at the center of the riser and I'd suggest putting a touch of glue on them prior to gluing up the bow. I didn't and found I had trouble keeping them from slipping and sliding around while gluing the rest of the bow up. Just my $.02.

Here http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=125;t=003239;p=2 ( at the bottom of the page ) you can see how Marty ( Apex ) does them. I believe somewhere there is another build along from him where he shows it step by step with even more pictures, but I couldn't find it. I did it exactly this way except for one where I was to impatient and didn't glue em together and I had a big hassle to keep the lams in place during the glue up.

I get the impression he is asking about decorative veneers under glass. See Sam Harper's build-a-long.
