Title: Easton Carbon Epic ST Nock Problem
Post by: JimmyC on February 12, 2008, 08:50:00 PM
Can anyone confirm:

1) Easton Super Nocks will press fit into an Easton Carbon Epic ST arrow?

2) Easton Super Nocks will work well for trad bows as opposed to the current H nocks which are made for an entirely different animal?!

Thanks,

Jim

Super nocks work good with trad bows, but the inner shaft diamiter of epics is larger than beemans, goldtip,or vapers.pribably won't work.

No they won't fit in Easton ST Epic's,they would fit in the older plain Epic but not the ST's.The ST Epic takes an H-nock and are a 9/32" carbon arrow.Super nocks work in 5/16" carbons like GT's,Carbonwoods,Beman ICS,Easton uni-bushings and some others. They have Super nocks and 3D Super nocks, the 3D Super nocks have the largest and deepest throat of those types of nocks.

Well that is not good news.  I just bought two dozen Epic St's (1 doz 500 and 1 doz 400 size)thinking they would replace my old version Epics.  ....

Boy am I mad!  These H nocks are completey wrong and it doesn't look like I have any other options.  I will never buy Eastons again at this rate.

Anyone want to buy some 30" arrows, cap wrapped and fletched?!!!

Yes when they redesigned them they made them 9/32" and called them ST Epic.I have filed nocks to fit some of my strings and some I just went with a thinner diameter serving to get them to work. They don't make alot of the stuff like heavier brass inserts for them without doing a modification on them.I ran into a similar problem with the Carbon Express Heritage 90,they are 9/32 also.so I took the 50 gr. inserts and mounting them on a field point in my drill and sanded them to fit the new CX 90's.But you don't have much of a choice with the H-nocks other then sanding or to file them.5/16" carbons have so many more options to work with because they have been out there longer when trad guys first started shooting carbons they needed more options to get them tuned.
