Post by: bigcountry on June 19, 2010, 03:20:00 PM
Whats the trick to tell if TB is too old?  Something about smacking between your fingers.  If its gooy its soemthing, if not its somethign?

Got a patch of TB3 and need to do a rawhide glue up.  Guessing its over a year old.

I'd say if it has been opened for more than a year it is old. Do a test and with rawhide and a bendy piece of the wood your bow is made of.

Glue 2 pieces of wood together and see how it works.

This is good advise.  Your right, no reason to take a chance, even though I did.  But next time, buy some new first.  We put too much time in this stuff to cut corners.
