I can't get my photos to work! This photo is the first day of bow season in 1958 I believe. Also the first Archery season for Texas. I am on the right with my buddies Don Huey who is 75 now and Julian Bently. We are in east Texas at Normangee, Texas. I will try to get some more photos later. The bows from left to right are Bear,Pearson, and my Ben Pearson.
This photo is about 1958 and I have Bear Kodak with clear glass with zebera wood underneath. It bas the first year for clear gla (http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc91/kenadenton/DSCN0150.jpg)ss for Bear.
Photo of a bobcat in 1961 we called up while calling crows with a crow call. My buddy had shot a crow and we were looking for it and saw this cat in a tree about 30 yards from where we were calling and I walked under the tree and shot him. The bow is a Black Widow 66" and 57# at my draw. (http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc91/kenadenton/DSCN0120.jpg)

On answering questions; My dog is a Jack Russell and he does not track, Most JRT's will. Also my longbow is made by a friend Roland Jenkins of East Texas. This black and white photo is Williamsport,Pa in 1962 (Sept 25) at the annual Bowhunters festible. I was stationed in DC and drove up for it.They were shooting at 3D targets then and we didn't know what they were in Texas. We were shooting Nat field archery at flat hay bales. They would shoot from behind a rope. The festival let 3 wild boar loose on top (http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc91/kenadenton/DSCN0151.jpg)of a mountain top and all the bowhunters would wait all around the bottom.
Here is one of the h (http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc91/kenadenton/DSCN0154.jpg)ogs they got at Williamsport.
Here is a few years ago on 9,000 acres in south Texas. I GOT 2 JAVS. (http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc91/kenadenton/DSCN01221.jpg)
Here is one of last years bucks. He was a 7 point with a 20" wide spread. (http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc91/kenadenton/DSCN0236.jpg)

From "Feathers thru the wind..."
Now old and gray and wiser
A hunter in his prime
And his head is filled with memories
Of hunts in younger times
But he still enjoys a frequent jaunt
Afield with stick and string
It has a feel of youthful fun
Unlike anything....
Thanks Ken, and happy belated birthday. You are a shining example of life well lived, and living on! Congrats!
