Title: Straightening Aluminium Arrows
Post by: nyamazan on February 10, 2008, 04:43:00 PM
While shooting today I missed my target and hit a brick wall with an aluminium arrow.
Amazingly the arrow didn't break, the insert and tip fell out near the wall and the arrow bounced back.
Can these be straightened without a machine, and if so how?
Arrow is only slightly bent.
Thanks guys.

You can hand straighten, put the heel of your hand on the bend and apply pressure against the bend. you can get them darn straight that way as long as the bend is slight.  Shawn

I have not tried Shawn's technique but will try it.  I roll the shafts on my table saw to see the bends and then flex with both hands for slight bends.  For more drastic bends I use a wood block with a hole to slip the shaft in and lever it that way.  Straightened two of the buggers this afternoon.

Call Skip Thompson at 800-337-1128 or go to this web site and check out the Cartel Arrow Straightener. I just bought one for $24.50 and I like it.
