This weekend I shot someones homemade 3piece, takedown longbow with a recurve style grip. The sight window seemed to be cut to center. I loved the way it shot and found the familiar medium pistol grip comforting. I just don't know who produces a bow like this. Any ideas.
Jason builds a beautiful bow like you are describing.
Here is the link to our webpage with the Orion.

Wow, I learn something new on here everyday! I didn't know Dryad had a 3pc T/D - Nice bow! And a very resonable price as well.
Whip they look Sweet don't they? I think all Dryad bows should come with glass also as a option. Mike ya make some of the best looking bows out there. The soothsayer with glass would be awesome.<><
Mike, how big is the shelf on that bow?

We have a Firefly in stock that fits your description perfectly. Gorgeous bow.

Happy "bow hunting" whatever you choose.
What is the general length of these bows? That lefty is just a little too light for me.
Bob Lee, I shoot one myself.

The most popular length in the Firefly is 62", but he makes plenty of 60" and 64" bows as well, and occasionally a 58" or 66".
Jim Jones of Firefly is a lefty himself, he'll build you about anything you'd like.
This is the bow Braveheart is talking about. Based off Binghams, with actionwood riser and cut close to center then built out with 2 layers of velcro. 64" with 16" riser.
Enjoyed shooting with this fine young father, hope to chase some pigs with him while he is in this part of the country. Of course my bow is built backwards for him!

"how big is the shelf on that bow?"
I guess I don't understand the question. The riser is 15" with a 3"+ window.

I've built about 10 bows like what you are describing....with a deflexed handle. It's my favorite design...best of everything IMO.

Seems quite a few folks are building them now. You should have a good choice!
Nice work Randy  .
I talked to Mark Horne last week and he said that he is working on a 3 piece Brush Bow. I already own a 1 piece Brush Bow and it is awesome!!! There might be a 3 piece in my future. It would be a little easier for travel.

I can't believe some of these bows you can make. Beautiful. I'm stuggling just to make a hickory selfbow. Please keep em comming.

The top bow in my avatar (at left) is a R/D longbow and can be had in a 3-piece just like the recurve below it.
Bob lee also builds a longbow with a recurve style grip.
