Since I have no children of my own I had to borrow this one from my sister. He's the smartest coolest kid I know. We went to Allegheny Archers per the recomendation of some fellas on here. This is Brendens first time shooting. He did real well and had a heck of a time. On the way home in the truck he tells me "Uncle Jeffy, I love spending time with you"....yeah the boys call me uncle Jeffy. Brenden and his brother Michael are the #1 reason for my wanting to move to PA. Now I know how some of you proud PaPa's feel!!!!

We are working towards full draw. I think he is still a little scared of the bow, but is getting comfortable with it. The kid has arms 1/4 the size of toothpicks...any idea of where to get an armgaurd this small? If I was at home I could just make him one, but no workshop or tools here yet.
That's kool Jeff. You are bonding with and training your future hunting buddy! Good show!
Thats awesome work your doing. I love the range a little indoor 3-d.
 Good Stuff.
In cases of dire emergency, I have made myself a guard from cardboard and duct tape. An old boot, a pair of snips and some lacing can go a long way. I bet even a plastic water jug can be pressed into service!
Great times for you two! I remember well the time spent doing fun stuff with parents and relatives. The learning came easy and it stuck. I am smiling thinking of the fun you two must be having.
Killdeer
Borrowing kids to mentor and take shooting is great! You get to teach them all the fun cool stuff and become an idol in their eyes.
When my nephew comes up from NC he loves to shoot. I took him along with my two boy's to a trad shoot last year and now he's hooked. Its fun to get the little ones into archery....
Jeff, send me your address, I think I've got some armguards and tabs squirreled away somewhere....
Kevin
Awesome! Well Done!
I know what you mean by little arms. We started our 7 year old out at 3 years old with his first bow. He is still wearing the same armgaurd my husband made him then. (It looks like the size of a good finger tab to me) Your best bet is to make one for him. Killy had some great ideas for improvising one on the fly.
Diddo Killie. A water bottle with the top and bottom cut off of it can be folded and holes punched into corners for a shoelace. It's the necessity that makes us inventors. Good job with the wee ones, they are the delight that makes what we do soooooo much more fun.
So are we to now address you as the archer formerly known as ks_stickbow? Or are you going to change it to pa_stickbow? :biglaugh:

Uncle Jeffy ( :p )that is aweseome! Glad to see you taken care of business. Cool video too.

MikeG can make you an armguard for him no problem.
Very cool.
cut the top off a long dress sock and slip it over his sleeve.
Thanks guys...I had more fun messing around with him then shooting myself...I can't wait to get back over there.
Hopefull he takes to it, and becomes a hunter, and by the time he's old enough to hunt he'll drag my deer for me.
Nice work
"Uncle" don't matter if they don't continue archery (gasp) you will be doing whatever they get into, and loving it.
Kurt
Hey Jeff grat job. Good to see you using that widow. I sure am enjoying the camera.
Donald
Very cool reminds me back in the days i took and taught my nephew. Now he is grown and has a trophy room of his own. They never forget those days, keep going with him. And WAY TO GO...
Donald...I'm deadly with that thing out to 30 yards now...She's a beast. Haven't chrono'd it, but it smokes for me.
I let brenden hold the widow at home and he acted like he he just got to hold the crown jewls...It was funny...I gave it to him and he froze...then he says for me to take it back cause he doesn't want to break my favorite bow....I've laughed more in the last 2 weeks then pribably the last year....them little'ns say some funny stuff.
That is one sweet camera...I'm glad your enjoying it.
