Gurn,
GREAT PIC Thanks for sharing
Nice size tree rat. Like your set up. Also, nice pic.
Dang man that tree rat looks as big as my little dog.....How on earth do you keep you feet from freezing in those rubber boots...MAN!!!
Nice shot! whats your set up there? a baraga?
Thanks boys. Those boots are some good old, made in America, Red Ball insulated boots. I've had them for about 15yrs with no leaks. The insulation is real good, and have kept my feet warm for years. I think the Company is out of business now, like a lot of other high quality American companies.
The bow is my sons 50# 60" Martin Stick. Seems like a great shooting little bow for the money. I think he paid $250 new, and I think it only weighs around 12 ounces. I sent my friend in SE Kentucky, where they have mostly gray squirrels, a picture. He said "that thing is as big as a ground hog!!" :D
Again, thanks for looking at the picture. I haven't been it this traditional thing too long, and your comments really encourage me. Check out all the deer tracks next to me on that trail.
Yep, They Taste Good. :D
Congrats
Now that is a big tree rat! Great shot!
Very cool! I love hunting those things although most of the time they win. :biglaugh: That squirrel is fat, I bet he taste good.
You answered my question about the tracks on the trail......nice shot.
David
nice shoot i love shoot them tree rats!!
I know it's been said before me but that is a mighty huge squirrel. I hunt my fair share but they are Gray's and a big one is half that size...LOL
Not sure what the Fox Squirrel taste like but I'll take squirrel on plate over any other wild game all the time.
That does look like a fat one. Our season is closed here or I'd be out there chasing them also.
The squirrel rut is in full swing.
Great pic.
Good shooting congratulations!
Nice pic! I like the look of that snow! ;) Thanks for sharing!
I bet it wouldn't take many of them to make a doz lol.
I think I like the taste of the grays a little better, but the fox is still real good. :D
Very Nice!! Looks like a Deer "Super Highway" you're on there.
Well boys another fat tree rat. :D

What's all that white stuff  (it was almost 70 yesterday).
I was thinking the same thing. That's alot bigger then I've ever seen here in the NY.
Nice shooting..
That last picture is just great.
It really says traditional in a big way.
Almost as big as that tree rat.
Tim
Well boys I ett that thar critter fir lunch ann it was rite jucy and good. :D
Here in KY, on the farms I hunt at least, they get big like that pretty regular. Tree rats are my absolute favorite critter to eat, bar none. Also, my favorite to hunt. We have a 6 month season here in KY and a 2 week spring season in June.
The times I've hunted squirrles in Ky, its been in the south east, around Hazard. A few fox but mainly grays. Real nice country around there. I had a freind that passed away in Bedford, by the name of John Richards. We lost a good one when he past on.
