Hello, im a new bowyer. I´m searching for man, where I can get osage near dallas. I friend of mine
will visit dallas in november and he wants to bring
osage to me. He isn´t an expert an so we need advice, to get good osage to make one als a selfbow, and the other to get backed by bamboo.

Thanks for your help

Try Woodworld off of 75/TI in Richardson. They'll probably call it BoisDArc. Occassionally they get some in. Though, it would be board cut and not staves - so you would need to back it.

There is a guy who advertises in TAW out of Huntington, TX which is about 3.5 hours south of Dallas.

If you're wanting to actually harvest and dry you're own - well the woods are full of it everywhere. You'll just need to find some land owner who wants that "junk tree with that big round green fruit" removed and ask permission. ;-)
