COOL!! Did you cut string grooves in the belly, at the curves?
-
Yes Dano, it has belly grooves, will try and get some full draw pic's up as soon as somebody get's home to take them.

what a bow! my congratulations!
i love her.....
greets, herm

What a beauty, love that walnut in the core. How did you get those recurves to bend that tightly? steam and prebend? Kirk
-
Yes Kirk, boiled the Walnut and Osage then bend them together on a form. (http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh216/quartermoonlongbows/IMG_0203.jpg)
Then did the same with the Bamboo and bend it on the same form, was a little tricky to get the proper length on the Bamboo so it would all fit.

hehe chupa :) life's about nice curves ain't it? :D
...wich is exactly what that bow has.
she reminds me of the old all-wooden recurves of the pre-glass era. Real classic lines.

I Agree, AWSOME Work!! Does it have any Glass Lams? I cant See Any if it does. Just Curious!! That IS a Gorgeous Wood Combo!!
-
Bill,
no glass lam's, but I was worried the curves would pull out and was going to laminate some overlays on the belly side a la "Grumley" but decided instead to laminate a 8" tapered piece of 0.050 brown glass between the Osage and the Walnut, worked like a charm!!
Thank you guys for all the great comments I really appreciate them :campfire:
Full draw pictures are on the way.
Regards.
Bert.
