Anyone used anything other than MT 13, can't find it locally and shipping is almost half the price of the epoxy?
-
I just used the 5ton stuff they sell at wally world, but every time I draw the bow for the first time, I hear a creak, the epoxy cracking, kinda un-nerving
Don't think I'd do that again.

I have used JB Weld with good results.I roughed everything up with a hacksaw blade and cleaned it up with Acetone. No problems.

Thanks,I guess if it's worth doing, it's worth doing it right.

I've used G2 with pretty good results.
-
JB Weld for me, too. I clean it with acetone and sand it a little with 150 grt. emory cloth.

Shocked all the JB users. But after thinking about it, would would fill any voids you got nicely. I wonder if this MT-13 I bought is just a waste.
-
JB Weld is just good epoxy with fine metal mixed in I think.

It has been several years since I used the sleeve system, I used Devcon Plastic Steel. It worked great and is a little thicker than JB Weld. I used it on five or six bows and as far as I know they are still going strong.
