Title: Bow usage
Post by: MCOrlando on July 01, 2009, 11:25:00 PM
I just built my first shootabe bow after 3 complete failures.  This is a 66" bow" 62# @ 28".  Ipe belly with hickory backing.  It has about 1 - 2" string follow after shooting. which lessons after it rests for awhile'
I normally shoot recurves and shoot 100 - 150 arrows per practice session.  Will I have a problem if I shoot this bow 100 -150 shots per session?  Should I knock the practice sessions down to a lessor amout of arrrows?

Nope, enjoy the bow, shoot it as much as you like. I doubt this will be the last bow you build.

Wood bows can be shot many thousands of shots and be ready for more shots. They ain't as fragile as most expect.
