Title: Dryad fiberglass bow

Has anyone ever done a Dryad fiberglass collection bow blank? I was thinking of doing one of these and am a total amatuer.  Ithought this would be a good weay to get my feet wet. What do you think?

There's a few things you can be assured of when you buy a blank from Dryad. You'll get a top quality blank at a decent price. They stand behind their work. They will do their best to help you. And they are great people. What more could you ask for?

I was skeptical maybe there was more technical work than meets the eye becasue you can buy a Dryad bow for 200.00? what a screaming deal. I am gonna try to save up for one if the economy shifts and my job gets better!!! What options of wood would you suggest? thanx Travis

Bought one not too long ago to finish up.  The level of completion that the blank arrives with is amazing, I was nervous too until I unboxed it.  I think I spent more time on all the little details than was necessary, but in the end it's a heck of a deal to get your feet wet.

Mine is Bocote and Black glass, and shoots great!

I did one last year and it was quite easy. I had it all done ready for final sanding and I got a little aggressive when I was sanding and screwed up the tiller.  I got it back in tiller for the most part but it came out a little too lite for my liking.  Go slow and get the DVD they offer and you will do just fine.

FYI... "Two Tracks" also sells a premium fiberglass bow blank for a very good price.

I made one from a Drayd bow blank. They are good quality and give great customer service. Its not that hard to do and they give you easy to follow instructions. Go for it you won't be unhappy. Mine was 64" 51# @28", it shot very well,so well that a friend had to have it so I sold it to him. I may get another for a winter project.
