It seems like I have had quite a few staves that take this road. One limb is as straight as an arrow, the other crooked as a dog leg. That's what comes of following the grain, I just thought this bow oughta be named to match. It's 66" tip to tip, 55# at 28". 1 1/4" wide to 3/8" tips.
Here's the upper limb

Nice bow, I prefer the look of the snaky bows to straight ones.
-
Nice bow Dano. Great Job.
-
Fantastic tiller! It certainly is confused about whether to be character bow or a straight bow. I guess that's just it's character. ;)
-
You sure can flatout tiller a bow.
-
I don't know about that BC, David Mimms is my tillering hero.
-
Another nice bow Dano. That is a fine job of tillering that you did. :notworthy: Those 1/2 straight staves can sure be a challenge.
You going to bring that out to MOJAM this year? Looking forward to seein' you and some of these bows that you have showing us here...

-
Dano, did that stave come from Mojam?
-
Nope, What I got from you is up next. Are you going to have more wood at MOjam this year?
-
Nope, sorry, didn't have time to do staves this year...
-
I hear ya.
-
I could prolly bring you a hedge post if my bud is cuttin then.....
-
Just checkin Kenny, thanks for thinkin about me.

Looks like a good 'un Dano. Yer right about osage staves. I've gotten to the point I'll part perfectly good staves and the splice the two "good" ends back together, and the two character ends. Mostly for the purpose of getting the two character ends. Straight selfbows are boring, lol.
Thanks for the kind words too, although I may have fallen from grace. Ain't had the patience required for proper tillering in quite a spell. But I'm excited about a lil project I'm working, from the glass side of the tracks. Much less hassle factor on the tillering, but they have their own challenges as well.
-
Hey Dano,
I'll reckon that one of us from "Hedge Country" will be able to spare ya a piece of osage at MOJAM... :D ;)
-
You self bow guys amaze me. Good job
-
Hahahah. That is so funny and so amazing.
-
Man Dano!
-
nice bow dano!!

Man that is a sweet looking bow....I love Osage more than any other wood for a self bow. Waiting on some hickory staves to dry out now for my first one. I love the look of that bow. Very nice.
