Some familiar faces here. I just wandered over from another forum where I have only been a member a short while. This forum looks to be a bit more bowyer centric and I like the forum software better.
Anyway, I love working wood and particularly like doing medieval reproductions - musical instruments, tools and weapons. It surprised me when I did the quick count for this post - I have now started 10 bows! 2 are in very early stages, 2 broke while in construction, 1 broke while shooting and 5 are still shoooting. But none are more than a few weeks old, so I am still very much a noob.
Here is my favorite picture of one so far:

That's one of my boys. The quiver he made himself; hand sewn canvas.
A couple of the kids bows (linen backed hickory; linen painted brown):

Some stock, some of which is now bows:

The persimmon bows are still in progress. I am going slowly and carefully with those as I have a limited supply. I can get all the hickory I care to for little or nothing.

Andy, Very nice work!! Stay with it.Since your having afew bows break, you should wear safety glasses when your first drawing or shooting a new bow in,I do. Regards, Kendall
