Title: Anybody ever...?

I have a John McCollough Giffen that I bought 4 or 5 years ago that developed crack in the riser as a previous owner had rasped it to close to center...  I just hung it up as oh well... but got to thinking

Has anyone ever taken 1 piece limbs, cut them off and made a riser and created a takedwon?
