Is there anyone other than Bingham's that offers plans for laminated fiberglass bows? Longbows or Recurves, one piece and three piece, not sure what I want to build yet, but want other options other than the Binghams plans.
Pictures of bows made from plans would be appreciated as well.
If you could find someone here that is just a hobbiest and has customized the bingham plans you would be well ahead of the game.
Most first bows made with their plans are rather square blocky looking things. As guys get braver they start rounding and smoothing their risers especially. Forms are modified to look like a custom bow they may own.
I no longer own the forms or bows I made so I'm no help. I decided I could not make a custom bow as well as the likes of Ron LaClairs shrew.

im doing a buildingplan, bowform patttern, howto in a german archery forum at the moment.
the bow is a mild deflex/reflex longbow 66" long.
the layout is made with a beginner in mind.
so i kept things plain and simple.
here are some pics of the bow.

and a drawforce curve (http://www.fletchers-corner.de/cpg/albums/userpics/11589/normal_66drawforce.jpg)
this will be an "open source" projekt,so everybody is free to use it.
if somebody is intersted,i can share the plans here as well.

I would be very interested in seeing your tutorial. That's one of the cool things about traditional archers, their willingness to share ideas and knowledge. Perhaps sometime I'll be able to pass on a tidbit or two.

i too would be interested in these plans. i am in the process of building a heat box and other stuff to make laminated bows, but don't have any forms or plans yet. it would help a lot. i do have a pattern for the forms of a very mild r/d bow butwhat i don't have is a pattern of the limbs (front to back). thanks, dan.
I started by just tracing a bow I liked and then cutting out a form. In fact thats how most folks start truth be told. I have since modified the form and adapted it from one pc to 3 pc and even designed and built a 3 pc recurve form from scratch. I could send you a limb to trace and give you a good start as to a lay-up formula to get to the weight you want. I build 1 pc LBs 3pc LBs and 3 PC recurves. Binghams is good if you want to follow a "cookbook" set of instructions but it is more fun to do it yourself. PM me if you are interested.
Oh yeah heres a pic of one of my 3 pc LBs.
