i have a crabapple tree in my backyard.have been wanting to try bow out of apple or crabapple.the biggest limbs are loaded with big branches coming off them.the cleanest stems are only 2-3 inches around maybe 60" long or so.didn't know if that would be big enough to get anything out of?was thinking of a double curve, indian style bow.didn't know if it would work for that or if a different style would work?i have three kids so even if light poundage would be o.k.

Crabapple will make a very good bow. 2" to 3" X60" should be plenty big enough. See what it looks like after you cut and split it then you can decide what to make from it.

I have made a couple crap apple bows. One limb one stave. Both came out great.Give it a try with 3 kids what you have to lose.
