I'm almost ready to tiller, and I've discovered a little deflex in what was going to be the top limb. There is also a little reflex in what was going to be the bottom limb. I chose that one to be the bottom limb because of a misunderstanding of the word 'deflex.'
The back:

The side profile:

eta: The handle is eight inches and the limbs are the same length(29 3/8) because of the width/shape issues and the placement of a group of pins.

Nice doorknob, is that original or repro?

Thanks, it's original. I just had that latch apart, thinking I would need replacement parts. Turns out it had just come loose after 70 years. I polished the contact surfaces, oiled the spring and it works like new. Score one for old-fashioned engineering.
