I have an old Ben Pearson Cougar bow that belonged to my father-in-law's uncle, so I don't know how old it is. It has some cracks that appear to be in the finish only. Is it safe to shoot? If not, any suggestions on getting it repaired.

Sam- are you going to the GA. State shoot next weekend? If so, I will take a look at it if you would like. Just look me up at the Big Jim tent.
good luck, BigJim

A lot of times with glass bows is if there old they've had a lot of stress on those limbs from stringing and shooting. This may do it but likely it's the finial finishing coating was sprayed on to thick.
Along time ago[over 20 years ago] when I built LAM bows an old gentlemen that built and sold bow blanks for a couple different bowyers back through the late 50's into the 60's once told me that this happened the older types of finish. But it did'nt hurt the bow just the finish and looks. But I'd let someone check it out.
