Since I started working on my second bow, I thought I would post my first bow. It is an all wood take down recurve. I did everything from reading off the internet. Alot of my info came from the Bowyers Den before it got shut down. Thankfully I fould this site.

I had a hard time with the limbs. But got it figured out enough to do this project. My next project will go alot smoother. I am building a new limb press and using fiberglass this time.

After a lot of sanding and trial and error. at least got this one built and looks good. Not the best shooter. I did not relize there was a left and right for the arrow rest when I started this, so made it left handed. Since I started my first bow, I have actually really got into archery. (never did it before)

It pulls 35# @ 25". after 25" it becomes really hard to pull. Like I said, I learned alot and hoping the second one will be a shooter as well as a looker.

What are the woods you used and how long are the limbs.
Very cool to see it done with just the internet for info. And yes the guys here are very helpful to us newbies. I feel like I am bugging them sometimes, but I really think they enjoy helping us.
Thanks :clapper:

Thanks all!..
I love it PEL.. no, this one just hangs on the wall in the living room. I know I did something right when the wife likes it enough to let me hang it up in the main living area. LOL
Yeah, my wood working skills worked, now I am working on the tech end of bow making. I am really looking forward to getting my second one finished. I am about half way.
I started shooting in a league at my local range with my $10.00 yard sale compound bow just to get the hang of shooting a target. But have really connected with the recurve guys. So cant wait to start shooting my hand made bow.

Razor back,
the riser is ash, zebra and paduak and the limbs are beech and hickory with paduak wedges and tips.
Long as the second ones is a shooter, I will post a more detailed build along for the newbies, so they can learn from me... I have lot's to teach after the first one!
