I have a three piece 50#@27" 62"ntn with a 15" riser. the riser is cracked and I want to replace it with a riser made from poplar. Is poplar strong enough to use as a riser wood.

Not in my opinion. There is so many other better choices out there. If you did use the popular you'd have to laminate it with some other things I would think. Chad

if you want a lighter wood you could use maple or ash. poplar just ins't strong enough.
