Title: Guitars, Quivers and Hillbilly Handiwork
Post by: George D. Stout on February 06, 2008, 10:04:00 AM
Just made another Asbell type quiver from an old Bear, 8 arrow bow quiver. It's one of the old two post models. I used a guitar strap I had left over and it works perfectly. I also left the screw posts on the quiver in case I wanted to attach a pouch to it later-on. Two pieces of rawhide and a strap.

Great idea George. I have a couple guitar straps laying around myself thanks.

If you don't mind me asking do you have the guitar that strap goes to.

Hey George great. I have a Gretsch Country Gentleman 1965 that I bought new in 66, a Dean electric (like a strat).

Also 2 flat tops, one Yamaha and Gibson Humming Bird which was my dad's. It was bought in 1968 new, but it might be a year older.

People are going to start calling George the "MacGyver" of archery. You got to love that.

Takemine electric acoustic cutaway, Ibanez electric acoustic cutaway, Fender strat...old Mann acoustic that I bought when I was 15, sounds like it is worth 10 times what I paid for it. (brass nuts fore and aft) and a couple nylon string classicals. I love those things a lot. Every one of them is just as comfortable at a traditional hunting camp as I am. My stuff gets used.

...Nice quiver. dual purpose, I like it!  :)

I love my Gretsch Tennesee Rose...seems like there's lots of talent on this site.

Very nice George, I made one out of a Fox strap on bow quiver. I sewed some velcro onto a leather strap & attached that to the velcro wraparound straps on the quiver & I'm good to go. I use it quite a lot. Frank
