I just fired the first arrow from my first hand-made bow. WOW!!! What a rush of memories from my pre-compound days. It is a 68" sinew backed wide limb bow of mountain ash. I built it in the style of the ancient Meare Heathe bow dug up in Europe. After just a few shots I have sore fingers and my shoulder aches, but man, am I glad to join the ranks of tradional archers again. My number one goal for years was to stick an arrow in an elk. I accomplished that this past Sept., then kind of wondered what could be my next challenge. I think I just found it.
Thanks to all the guys who have helped me so far with my bow building.

I loved my first arrow too, it was such a rewarding feeling :) Looking forward to starting hunting with it and getting out in the forests.

I always wonder about the folks that want zero hand shock from a bow. I dont mind knowing I shot my arrow.
Welcome and enjoy
