Title: Linen backing
Post by: b.glass on February 16, 2009, 04:24:00 PM
Have any of you used or heard of using linen fabric for bow backing? I have linen string but saw some linen fabric on sale and was wondering how that would work for backing a bow.

Bona, linen makes an excellent bow backing. You can use any carpenters glue but I prefer TBIII. Pat

Did you guys use fabric or string? I would think that the fabric would be actually better than string. I picked up some brown, 100% linen for $10 a yard and thought I would try it on some youth bows.

You could do it with the linen string but the cloth makes it quite simple to do.
