Title: Old Bear(Sears Supreme) question
Post by: stripe55 on February 06, 2008, 01:13:00 AM
My nephew just dropped off this old bow. It is 60" amo, #45@28, ser.#11725. It has the slotted riser for the bear sight. There is a 55" string on it, not the original, and it braces 8.75", too high? String too short? Does the serial # give its birthday like "regular" Bear bows? Thanks for any and all info. The bow is in pretty decent shape and I can't wait to get the right string and arrows going. Thanks again. John

Your string is an inch too short and your brace height will drop to where it should be (or thereabouts, probably 7 1/4-8) when you get the proper string. Get a 56" flemish twist. Can't help you with the serial # or dates, sorry.

Sorry no pics, no digital at home. Yes it looks like pictures of Super Kodiak that I have seen. Is it safe to assume a 56" Dacron is the correct string? Thanks for everything, john

Yes...a 56" dacron will do fine.  Those were made on the Super K form.
