Guys I am finishing up my first ever laminated bow. It is a R/D longbow. I would like to trap the limbs a little but I have a few questions.
1) Should I have the bow finish tillered before trapping the limbs or do the tillering after trapping has been done to the limbs?
2) Is a sanding block and sand paper the best and safest way to do this?
3) How many pounds typically does trapping the limbs take off a bow?
4) When tillering the bow (sanding belly side of limbs) what grit of paper and/or sanding blocks do you use?
Thanks, Mike.

1) Trapping will change the tiller. How much depends on how aggressively you trap
2) It's a good way to trap
3) 1-? depending on how much material you remove. If your just going for looks and a slight bevel you'll lose 1- 3# usually
4) I only sand the belly face as a last resort but when I do I use 80grit to start with a block and progress out to 220.Takes very little sanding on the belly to change things.
Good luck
