What is the narrowest that you have made a osage self bow limb? I am talking right out side of the fade, I like the looks of narrow limb bows wondering how little I can get away with.
Thanks

Too many variables to answer your question.
Are you an experienced bowmaker?
What weight do you want?
How long are you willing to make it?
Do you want a speed demon?
How long do you want it to last?

I made a 3/4" wide 48" long osage self bow that pulled 45#@22". Osage doesn't mind being narrow. You could easily make a 1" wide osage bow, 64" to 66" long that would pull 60#"28".

I'm with Pat. It don't take much 'sage to make a bow. I have one that is 7/8" wide and 62" long and pulls 45lbs @ 26". It's the smoothest bow I've built yet.

I made one 1 1/4 inches wide that drew 49# at 26 in. Jawge

Hey there Bobby, you got to wondering about that "skinny" osage stick we were looking at last night huh. I think it will work. We'll find out in a day or two.

1" is the narrowest I have made a bow to draw 50# at 27". It was bendy handled. I like 1-1/4" a little better. That seems to minimize set on a rigid handled bow that is 64" or less.

I make my bows. One an a half wide I like 66"s long I have went down to 60.I have went down to one an one eight.
But keep you bow long 68 to 72 you could go down to a inch.
