Someone will find a way to make anything a competitive sport.  I like the stock and modified classes they have.  Kind of like the woodshop version of lawnmower races.

They have annual races/competition at two of the local lumber suppliers in Bozeman.  Some of my subcontractors prepare for these races the entire year.  They have a tendency to sup-up the motors and fry them trying to get more rpm.
